Sustainable retailing has become a strategic imperative for Canadian retailers as they navigate growing regulatory demands, stakeholder pressure, and shifting consumer expectations. This paper explores sustainable retailing practices in Canada, integrating insights from academic research, government policy, and industry initiatives. Drawing on secondary data, government reports, and industry analyses, the study categorizes sustainable retail practices into five domains: sustainable supply chains and sourcing, low-impact store operations, sustainable products and packaging, consumer engagement and communication, and digital and technological enablers. A conceptual framework is proposed that links sustainability drivers, retail practices, and performance outcomes. Evidence suggests that Canadian consumers increasingly factor environmental and social performance into their purchase decisions, and major retailers are responding with initiatives such as waste reduction, energy efficiency, responsible sourcing, circular economy models, and Fairtrade certification. However, challenges remain in balancing cost, authenticity, and the risk of greenwashing. The paper concludes with managerial implications and directions for future research on sustainable retailing in the Canadian context
